I have just had a Datejust 1603 serviced. £490.
A bit of a cock-up.
To cut a long story short, whilst servicing my watch they damaged the Dial.
When Rolex customer relations became involved, they e-mailed me photo's of replacement dials set up in my watch, i.e. I had a choice of different dials & they were very apologetic.
Although it was preferable that the dial wasn't scratched in the first place, the watch has come back looking newer than new.
Rolex UK although not perfect went out of their way to sort the problem in a professional manner.
Getting back to basics, £490 for a Datejust & £645 for a GMT service is almost becoming unafordable.
I hate to think how much it will cost for a service in another 6 years or so.
Again to cut a long story short.
The Rolex technician who serviced my watch scratched the dial, didn't tell the service manager. He sent the dial to a dial restorer( I find this a bit odd) who did a poor job.
Rolex customer relations, investigated my complaint, found out the truth & profusely apologised and sorted me out with a new dial & hands + a gift of a Rolex pen knife. Yes i'm easily bought.
I made mistakes in my working life so I can forgive the technician who damaged my dial, but he should have told his manager !
These guys have a good reputation.... Many good references on the TZ-UK watch forum ( mention the forum and Duncan gives a discount...

Looking at the Genesis website, their turnaround is much quicker than Rolex but their servicing prices, although cheaper than Rolex UK are not in my opinion significantly cheaper.
I paid £240 to get my 1680 serviced 4 years ago - I would say they have priced themselves out of the market by nearly tripling their cost.
My 1665 SD is due a service so I too would welcome UK VRFers thoughts on good reliable (independent) UK service.
This clown severely damaged an irreplaceable dial on a watch of mine. Totally unprofessional response to the situation. No apology!! You have been warned.
