Im considering a 5513 MN, from what I can see searching the forum it would seem that the MN number is also stamped on the back of the
lug, thus linking the case back to the mid case. was this always the case or not??
O if anyone has one for sale I'd be interested:)
Thanks in advance
Ian

When you say MN number...

June 11 2012, 3:00 PM

do you mean the year? Or the serial number?

As far as I was aware there is nothing to differentiate a MN 5513 from a normal 5513 other than the caseback just like the Tudor subs.

I've certainly seen them with just the caseback engraving and nothing else different...

do they look like this?

[linked image] I guess they do then? I've seen them with just MN xx on the back and always been curious about them.

Maybe they are just later years ones....

but then this is supposed to be a 70?

[linked image]

as is this...

and these two MN70 number 015 both look different to me!!!

Have you asked Jeff, Ian? (Dr.Strong)

Please forgive my ignorance.......

But is this a military issued watch?

If not what is the purpose of the letters & numbers?

Regards

Tony

They are military watches....

...used by the French Navy officiers.

It's not very clear though if they were issued for that purpose by Rolex or bought and engraved by the French Navy.
