other countries. Ran into this group, Hard Assets Alliance, it is a business that you can purchase gold through and have it held in various vaults around the world...Utah, NY, London, Switzerland and Melbourne. If you are a gold bug and have concerns about fiat currancies and world economic issues, you might be interested.

This is all in response to concerns over how much physical gold is actually in hand and in the vaults of the EFT GLD. If everyone wanted to cash out or take possession of the GLD gold, could they? That is what Hard Asset is about...actual physical gold being held in your name...you can visit it, you can take it out and walk away with it, you can have it sent to you...etc.

You can Google them and learn more...and ask me questions but I'm just learning about them myself.

You open an online account - wire your cash to it, then buy in and out of it online in seconds and at your heart's content. You have total and absolute control of your account against a real GLD system product. It's as good as taking delivery without actually having to take delivery.

holding like traded shares across the world bourses and capital remains abroad if you choose to. One of the minus is there is no physical gold holding per se as it's an investment trust.

Asian banks do offer such paper holdings account but not as far reach like platform like you mentioned. Low taxes regime & absence of capital gains tax (equity, commodity) in my country makes tax planning simpler IMO.

Great OT & many cheers guys!

bad way to keep a little yellow metal on hand...though the bracelets seem to have gotten a little pricey for the time being.

I finally pryed the steel 1018 off my wrist and am enjoying the 1013 again. And there are some handsome 14k Rolexes on ebay but the sellers haven't discovered reality yet. I think 14k Dates and OPs are a new smart entry point for gold Rolexes. 14k bracelets too. Could it be that the global financial train wreck will resurrect 34mm 14k watches?

Agreed re 14k Dates

I got my hands on one in great condition for a fraction of what a comparable Day Date would cost. They seem to wear a lot bigger than their SS counterparts. Mine, to me a least, wears bigger than my 36mm DJ.
