I would avoid anything close to SW2 or even better

try a neighbouring city/town outside London. When I was residing there, I recall prices were very high anywhere around Greater London and most of the ones I tried, even many miles outside Westminster were not that much cheaper either, where most of them claimed that they needed to be sent away. Sometimes cheaper isn't always better, so I would personally look around some of the other neighbouring cities that have independent watchmakers and most importantly, I would prefer that the person that you speak to is the one who is doing the job. Good Luck!!!!

Remember that you get what you pay for.

Most of our Rolexes share the same family of movements. They may not be decorated but they are precision and do a wonderful job for many many years. They are no different than a fine car engine. While you are right to look for fair value in a watchmaker, as they said in the Ferrari club, buy cheap and pay twice. Find a watchmaker with excellent references and a demonstrated history working on Rolexes. Then pay his price and know that your watch has been properly cared for. And remember the watchmaker has his/her own expenses...taxes, rent, insurance, mortgage, kids who need food and clothing, a car that needs gas and repairs...etc., etc., etc.
