Hi folks,

I'm trawling through my stash of hands hoping to help a mate with his early 1016 Explorer project.

Am I correct that Explorer 1016 hands differ subtly from same - era Sub and GMT hands.

A scout around VRF archives suggests that the minute hand is longer for a 1016 Explorer ... but all else is the same.

Hoping someone can confirm that or perhaps even has a loose set of early 1016 Explorer hands they can measure up for me.

Much appreciated in advance, Paul

For chapter ring models you will have similar hands as on subs. Often gilt. For non chapter ring dial the hands are longer than on submariners but very often you see 1016’s with shorter hands which were often the service part often used.

If you have more sets with long minute hand I am looking for a set. Drop me a message if available. happy.gif
