I've never had any, though I know he received at least one.
I've included cards, pictures...nothing. I think a lot used to have to do with timing. When he lived in Somerset he didn't see his mail as often. When he's filming, he may well be too busy.
Anyhow, it will make you feel better and you might get lucky. Give it a shot.
