Bye bye Pandora & Tilly

We have finally managed to find new homes for these kittens - Tilly went a week ago & has settled into her new home really well, & this morning Pandora has happily gone to a delightful family with 3 lovely polite children who adored her on sight. I will miss them both, but found having 2 kittens very exhausting. Fun, obviously, but I'm so happy they have both found new loving homes.

You did a good deed

Those two babies can look forward to long and pleasant lives because you took the time to find them suitable homes. But how did you arrive at the name Pandora? Did she like to play in boxes?

My cats loved paper bags. That was in the days when you could still get paper bags at the supermarket.

XOXO, Mez

Pandora

Oh yes, she was crazy about boxes. Also very inquisitive. The new family like her name, but one of the little boys wanted to call her 'Pepper', & I said that wouldn't be a problem as she didn't often answer her name anyway. It can take ages for a cat to get the hang of it's name, I think they will respond to any sound repeated often enough.

That was one thing I didn't enjoy about my cats

You can call and call their names, but whether they come or even deign to look at you in response is a matter entirely for them. Of course some dogs are that way too. I won't name names.

I met a remarkably well-behaved little dog in Petco the other day, a tiny poodle sitting quietly beside her mistress just ahead of me in the checkout line. I waggled the toy I was buying at her in greeting; she immediately stood up on her hind legs and begged. Then the girl gave her a simple "sit" command and she obeyed. I asked how old she was: just under a year. I was wowed.

Her name was Lovey.

We used to have a sweet little kitty named Sasha. She ALWAYS came running whenever I called her. The cats we have now, OJ and Binx, sometimes come but more often just give me a look that says "I'll think about it."
