I would agree with most of his answers

Do I know him so well? Or how I feel about him?

Wouldn't you love to know the story behind some...who said that worst thing to him?

All in all, he's quite a man.

Experience of life

November 8 2009, 9:40 AM

Charlie's answers make me think he is a disappointed man. Of course I don't really know him, but, and this is a big but, he seems to be saying, apart from his children, he doesn't have many anchors in life. Growing old is a hard business, especially when you have been such a handsome human being with so much talent.
I really would like to meet him, I think he is a very complex man, with many layers to him. In Merlin he played his usual villian who came to a bad end, but in Trinity[although it is a load of rubbish] he is given a chance to give depth to his character. I am enjoying his acting in that. I do wish Charlie could have been offered better parts through his acting career, he would have been perfect playing Giaus, Merlin's mentor. Why is he never in those roles? I bet he is so fed up with being type cast. How many distinguished patrician, villians etc can he play. Being an actor, means just that. Not being yourself. I do feel for him.
Love Elaine
P.S. Am I wrong? [linked image]

I agree with you Elaine. there are lots of roles in which he would have been perfect, yet you never hear of him being associated with them at all. And Trinity is a load of rubbish - but I'm loving it! I saw most of Merlin yesterday, & as usual he played the villian to perfection.[linked image]

I understand why you feel he has no others but his children BUT

November 8 2009, 5:13 PM

my read would be that the rest are none of anyone's business, thank you. He doesn't even talk about his children in order not to invade their privacy. I think he's just a very private person.
We all know what gossip can do.
