Charlie's answers make me think he is a disappointed man. Of course I don't really know him, but, and this is a big but, he seems to be saying, apart from his children, he doesn't have many anchors in life. Growing old is a hard business, especially when you have been such a handsome human being with so much talent.
I really would like to meet him, I think he is a very complex man, with many layers to him. In Merlin he played his usual villian who came to a bad end, but in Trinity[although it is a load of rubbish] he is given a chance to give depth to his character. I am enjoying his acting in that. I do wish Charlie could have been offered better parts through his acting career, he would have been perfect playing Giaus, Merlin's mentor. Why is he never in those roles? I bet he is so fed up with being type cast. How many distinguished patrician, villians etc can he play. Being an actor, means just that. Not being yourself. I do feel for him.

P.S. Am I wrong?
