IBS

I haven't lost much weight yet, but since I've been taking this Phase 2 my irritable bowel syndrome seems to have almost disappeared (unless this is a coincidence).

It's no coincidence. IBS is said to be caused by an intolerance to starch isn't it? It completely makes sense that taking Phase 2 would make a difference.

Vicky is right, those suffereing from IBS are often advised to cut down on starch. So it's logical that Phase 2 would help.

From my own personal experience, I can say that Phase 2 has greatly reduced my IBS. I haven't lost a great deal of weight since I've been taking it, just a few pounds, though I'm not a big carb eater anyway, but it sure does calm down the IBS and there's no mistaking that.

This thread doesn't make any sense to me. I would have thought that taking Phase 2 and therefore blocking starch digestion may cause larger quantities of undigested carbohydrates to pass through the bowels and make IBS worse. I've been very successful with Phase 2, but my wife has IBS so I've told her not to take it.

I have to agree. I can't see how Phase 2 would help anyone with IBS and it could aggravate their symptoms. For anyone with IBS I'd say it's not recommended.

I can't see how Phase 2 would help IBS, but I'm not convinced it would make IBS any worse either. I'm struggling to see how it would make any difference to IBS, one way or the other.

could it be that you are wheat intolerant normally and thus your body is glad of the break from wheat intake and digestion? I have IBS and I know wheat and stress make it flare up. Good luck
