Just started

Just started taking Phase 2. I'm currently eating a lot of the weight watchers ready meals which have rice and pasta in them. I'm hoping that phase 2 works for me when eating these meals. I'm currently taking 2x250mg tablets before each meal. Am i doing this right?

Phase 2 would certainly work well with rice and pasta, but I don't thin you're taking enough. I think you'll find most people on Phase 2 are taking double the amount that you're taking.

When i bought these tablets from the health store i was advised to take just 1 250mg with each starch based meal. I've been taking 2 and was concerned that i may be taking too many. Maybe i should take 3 with each meal. I only have 2 main meals a day. Any advice please!!!

The clinical studies used 500mg, 1000mg or 1500mg. There doesn't seem to be any study at the low dose of only 250mg. It seems to me that 500mg is the minimum.

I'm taking 1000mg a day which is 500mg before each meal. Is that sufficient?

It's not how much you take a day that counts, that doesn't mean anything. It's how much before each meal. That's the only amount that means anything.

Thank you all for the advice. I am currently taking 500mg before each meal. I have 2 main meals a day which are usually starch based. I've only been on them a week and up to now i don't think i have benefited at all. I have started exercising also. Still musn't be too impatient must i.

It's not enough. You should take 1000mg before each meal.

Went to my local health food store and the assistant said you can only buy phase 2 in 250mg. I've been taking 1000mg-1050mg a day for the past 2 weeks. I weighed myself this morning and i have lost 3 and a half pounds. I'm well pleased with that. I think i'll stick with the dosage i'm taking for now and see how it goes.

Hi Anna,

Yes Phase 2 is still working although the weight loss is slowing down. I am exercising also and i've lost 91bs in total. The best part about it is it is staying off. I'll stick with it as i do feel heaps better in myself also.

how long has it taken you to lose the weight that you have. ive been taking phase 2 for 2 wks now and haven't yet weighed myself but haven't really noticed much of a difference. i'm also exercising alot.

I have been taking these tablets since Sept 06. In all i have lost 1st 11b. I have been eating normally and was exercising at first but haven't exercised for a while now. I'm still having a steady loss. some weeks a 11b or 2 and other times i stay the same for weeks with no loss at all. I suppose it depends on the person. A friend of mine was taking them for about 4 months and hardly lost anything.

as u loose weight you move around more?

I have read through this thread and a consistant thing is that many have taken blockers and also done more excersise? we all get motivated ad do these crazy things.

also as u lose weight u tend to move around more during the day which increases the calorie burn.= loose weight.

I have tried blockers twice.

the first time i stated cycling to work and using the blockers for (free work lunches) - i lost over a stone in 2 months.

The second time i used blockers only when i needed them ( before a very strachy meal and also lost weight but not anything like the first time as i had stoped cycling - something like 4 1bs.

if you can combine the two - two things happen

1) you can enjoy a normal lifestyle witout puting on weight

2) the excersise also burns off the fat and u feel better and move around more

so.
use them as a "guilt" high carb meal thing and do lots of cycling. swimming, etc whatever you enjoy

One week

I am taking 1000mg before breakfast (porridge) lunch (sandwich) and evening meal (no pasta or potato if I can help it). My plan is to lose weight/waist size and then only take the Phase 2 when I 'need' to thereafter.

I am a bit concerned that a lady in another thread has been taking for 2 or more years and only lost a few pounds. I hope she was just doing it wrong.
