Our team was accepted by Stampede, but not Rage. One of those TD's needs help, but I'm not sure which! LOL!

Rage's a much better tournament.

Mustang tournament is too late, no coaches(back at their own schools) and the players are exhausted, it is a whats the point kinda tournament.

i thought they said they were going to move the times to allow for more college coaches?

rage is a showcase not a tournament. stampede is a tournament not a showcase. therefore, stampede attracts the younger ages and rage attracts the olders.

I guess that's why we got into Rage for the prior 2 years and not Stampede. Sorry, maybe Stampede drops off at U19, but in U16 & U17, it was much harder to get into than Rage. Lots of NorCal teams made Rage, but not Stampede. As for this year, are you really going to say that a tournament that takes Tremors and Avalanche is a better tournament? Sounds like the TD didn't do his/her homework.

stampede has cal cougars and santa clara...didn't realize cal cougars was still around!
and santa clara lost a game in statecup 10-1. at this age, things have really thinned out :)

You charge $900 per team, then stack one bracket to remove 2 or 3 of the best teams from competition? What a joke your club can be!

Where are the uppity Mustang parents now? Show some class and tell your TD to seed the brackets.

Give 'em a break. They will have just returned from Surf cup and 4-5 physical games. They have bigger and better things to do. Their TD should let them out of this tournament cause playing soccer for some trophy is retro.

If it is not a college showcase, then it is not worth too much at this age group.

4 to 5 assumes they make it out of bracket play.

All but one player on the Spirit are committed - so they ahve nothing to prove. In addition, right after Surf, then Stampede,they return to Socal for FWR Fall league

That is reason enough to not kill themselves in a crappy useless tournament. SCA and Juve are the ones that should rethink their schedules if they are trying to do all of that

What a bunch of whiny excuses from Spirit parents. Its one thing to shade brackets, but quite another to put the 3 weakest teams in your pool. Maybe this tournament means nothing to you, but that doesn't mean you stack it against everyone else. Amazing that the club would denigrate their tournament in such a manner.

Let's just Boycott until they change brackets. It's bad enough the quality of teams is horible.

Hope no one is expecting college coaches to appear. Last year, we had 3 colleges come out to watch. College players and coaches will be gearing up for their seasons. I bet if Mustang had a choice they would not attend either, but because their club is hosting this they are forced to participate. Glad we have an option. The only purpose of this tournament I can see is to prepare a newly formed team for Fall league play.

My guess is the spirit could care less what bracket they are put in, and the TD probably doesn't have a clue about teams in this age group. So go ahead and send him an email. Explain to him how you know more than he does, and that you'll be happy to help him get it right.

yeah, they forget who butters their bread. The coaches aren't exactly doing it for the good of our kids. they'll cut your kid from the team the minute they sniff a better player...

So what did you expect them to do? Put Marin in their bracket and knock out one of the best teams? SCA should win the C bracket and then it will be a race.

The tournament director of Mustang did what most TDs do? He put the top 3 teams in separate brackets.
With almost every one of their players already committed to colleges, I doubt the girls even care about this tournament at all. Most younger Mustang teams don't really want to go their own tournament but would rather go down south for the competition.

So don't enter the tournament or ask for your money back. I don't like Fred either.

You obviously don't know much about the teams or seeding a tournament. The 3 teams in Spirit's bracket are clearly the weakest 3 teams overall. The TD should have spread them across all three brackets and used the remaining fodder to stack Spirit's bracket. Why be so blatant about it??

You are right. You can throw the Strikers in there. That makes 4 equally weak teams.

Host your own tournament and you can seed it. then we can take shots at you.

Lots of teams host tournaments, and some do take shots for bracketing. But there's never been one that is as obviously stacked as this one. If you can't see that then either: 1) you've been kicked in the head by a Mustang; 2) You're possessed by a Spirit; 3) Your're a comnplete idiot; 4) (my personal guess) all of the above.

Hey, Heritage may be the 4th weakest team, but they've beaten the other 3 every time they've played in the last 2 years, they've played GSSL Gold for 2 years, and are ranked #9 on GotSoccer. However, the point is not that Heritage is a good team, but that the TD's bracketing was a very calculated attempt to give Spirit the easiest possible path to the semi's.

Damn man...if you don't like it pull out!! Get the hell out of the tournament...NOW. who gives a ****. This tournament has no college coach appeal. With the exception of local colleges that might wonder up their just to check out any possible prospects?? If your in it then you know this and your there either to give some players on the bubble some extra playing time before you decide whos on the bench and who is not before league starts... otherwise what's your beef, because the Mustang TD is biased...get a F@@@#*! life.

With colleges back in session you may get a few local college assistants showing up. This is not a showcase just a prep for fall league tournament.
