I am trying to find my sister's burial site in Bougainville. My sister drowned in Keita in the early 1960's and then my parents left around 1964. I want to ask my parents but it is a subject which you just do not talk about. Please if anyone can help me I would be so greatful. Is there anyone you would know that I can speak to or a government office in Bougainville who I can contact please. Thankyou for your message. I am living in Cairns and due to my tiredness i think it was alittle latter than 1964 as we left in 1967. I so much want to find where she was buried as my parents will not talk about the matter. I am in the middle of trying to get a job at the Madang Resort so I can be up in PNG and be a little closer to fly to Bougainville anddo some investigating. I thankyou if you could help me in any way.
I've not looked into finding my sisters grave as yet. I actually forgot about the add as so much has happened in the last couple of years. I have been lead to beleive that a elder from one of the tribes in and around Keita use to work with my dad as a youngster, and wrote a book about his life when he use to work in his early years. I can not recall his name but could find out that may be useful information.
If you can remember some names of people or Places in Kieta, please do let me know so I can point you in the right direction.....Let me know where you lived in Kieta and your family member's names which I can use to find out more infor on who will remember the Names......We have a Bougainville forum and it will be so much easier for me to find someone who may have known your family..
