hey johannes, i don't know how long ago you posted that message but i just found it now. i don't have great contact with many of the others but it would be good to hear from you. i am back in england now, but would love to go back to bulolo one day. hope to hear from you soon, simon (say hi to benjamin? and i will tell chris that i tried to contact you)
Hi Simon, I often wonder about the children in my class at Bulolo. I am still in contact with the Suttons. I would love to hear news of you and Christopher and any other children from that time.
hi jackie (i can call you that now can't i?). can't believe it has been so long since i checked this site. hope you get this message, will write a proper note later, only it is late and i am too tired to write anything intelligent. loved bips, and as i recall, you were a great teacher.

Great to hear from you. I would love to hear news of you and Chris if you have time.
Of course you can call me Jackie.
Ronald has a bit of trouble doing so.
Bulolo was a great little school and most of my best teaching memories are of there.
Keep in touch.
Jackie
Hi Jackie,
Nice to hear from you (and other people from Bulolo like this), I do miss that place sometimes.
Myself, I am trying to get work with tv production companies, picking up bits of work experience here and there. I would like to make documentaries about places like Bulolo (it is quite a competitive industry though).
My brother Chris has just returned from travelling a few months ago. He spent a lot of time around Australia and Thailand, but didn't quite make it to PNG. Gives us both an excuse to have another go in a few years. We both graduated in the last couple of years but neither of us has yet managed to fall out of the nest completely, not that we haven't been given enough encouragement!
How about yourself? Still teaching? If some of your best memories were of Bulolo then where can the others have been? Must have been nice.
I dug out one of my old school reports recently, and I dont know if I can assign this comment to yourself but it made me chuckle. -regarding physical development "Simon has little interest in team sports and is badly co-ordinated, however he loves to sing and dance" Glad I grew up.
Would be nice to hear how you have been/what you do, and my parents both send best wishes
Hi Johannes it was great to see your message.
I often wondered what happened to you, Benjamin, Joshua, Petrina and Evelina. I had such fun teaching at Bulol and meeting you all and your families.

I remember you very well! We havenīt been to P.N.G since we left november 1986 back to Finland. Where are you living now? How about Mrs Sutton and ms Vickers? I am married and living in central Finland but Benjamin lives in southern finland. When will you visit Finland?? Summers are warm and nice but I still havenīt ot used to winters. Now itīs been almost -30 for few days but thats very rare. Usually around 0 all lower. Life is been sad lately because we have lost two babys, boy and a girl. The babygirl was born dead couple weeks after the estimatet date of birth. But now we are expecting a new baby, and hopefully everything goes o.k this time. I still miss bulolo and wish to go there one day but itīs always the money problem. Let me hear of you and we can talk more. And all others too who know me, feel free to mail me. lehtinenjoonas(at)hotmail.com. There is also a profile of me in Hi5.com.
hi! i just came across this while i was searching for info on our school. i hope you'll get to read this. i don't know if you remember me but we also used to live in bulolo back in the 80's. i'm not sure if we were in the same grade but i know that we were in the same classroom. hope to hear from you.
was looking for pictures on the internet and found this message. i went to the school a lot later than most people on here (1994-1999)
but my sister elizabeth and my brother andrew also went to the school before me.
Wow, this is cool. Johannes was visiting me just now and showed me this forum (he lives about 30kms away).
For those who don't remember me, I was in BIPS for a short period of time at around 1985 but long enough to remember all of yous. I was one of the crazy Finnish dudes. I left Bulolo in 1985 to go to Pangia in the SHP. I did visit Bulolo quite a few times during that time until we moved back there in 1993. I spent 3 years there and left PNG for good in 1996. I haven't been back since and it's been 10 years of wanting to go back During 1993-1996 I was in contact with a few BIPS students who were attending there at the time.
I went to Finland in 1996 and spent 2 years there with my family. I left home and went to Canada in 1998 (I am Canadian by birth and citizenship but with a Finnish background). I left Canada at the end of 2002 to come to Finland, and I've been here ever since. I got married last year but no kids yet
My time in Bulolo has got to be one of the best times of my life. I have very fond memories of PNG and all of the people I knew. I miss PNG very much and I hope to return some day. It's just so friggin' expensive to travel there from here.
For those of yous who want to contact me, my email is macinjosh(at)gmail.com.
I remember you and your sister and brother. I'm not the Joshua you prolly knew better (Macaughley). I kinda had a crush on Elizabeth at some point. Say hi to them for me
i love readin about all these people that went to BIPS and loved it as much as i did.. many of you probaby heard the news about the school getting burnt down a few years ago.. luckily the time capsule that was on the grounds plus most of the photos from.. pretty much since the school was started, have been sent down to us in canberra.. its so amazing to see the generations of photos.. although it was terrible loosing the school, my family is lucky enough to have the history of the students and school in pictures. my mum is planning on preserving them as well as possible.. alothough they are all so badly burnt. im hoping that if any body wants photos, i can eventually scan them and send them out to you..
