Hello,

I would like to apply to Green Card Lottery. I've a girlfriend but we haven't married yet. If I got the green card could I bring my girlfriend with me to US? If I married after my green card application would my wife get the visa too?

Thank you very much.

You cannot list your girlfriend on your lottery application. If you marry after submitting your lottery application but before applying for your permanent visa (i.e., before applying for your green card), your wife would be able to apply for a visa with you. If, however, you marry after receiving your visa, you would have to file a visa petition (Form I-130) and then wait for many years before your wife would be able to apply for a permanent visa to join you in the U.S.
