Visa for English

After reading certain information I have come to the conclusion that emigrating from the UK to the USA is difficult without a lot of money!
How would be the best possible way for a store (retail) manager to gain a "permanent visa"(green card) for the USA?

Another question I have is that I read if you are living in "northern Ireland" you may apply through the lottery, but to my understanding people born in "northern Ireland" hold the same passport as a person who lives on mainland England so therefore are English, so how do people living in Ireland qualify through the lottery?

The three most common ways to become a permanent resident are through

(1) immediate family members who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents,
(2) work, and
(3) the diversity visa program (green card lottery).

For most work-based applications, it is necessary to first have a U.S. employer who is able and willing to sponsor you for residency. As for the lottery, individuals born in Ireland, as well as those born in Northern Ireland, are eligible to participate in it. For purposes of the lottery, individuals born in Northern Ireland are treated differently than those born elsewhere in the U.K.

Only those born in Northern Ireland are eligible whereas people born elsewhere in the U.K. are not eligible.

The lottery grants permanent resident status to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S. Because of the large number of individuals from England who immigrate to the U.S., the English will most likely continue to be ineligible to participate in the lottery in the years to come. They are, however, eligible to participate if they are married and their spouse was born in an eligible country or if their parents were born in an eligible country or did not reside in England at the time of birth.
