Hi,
here our story... I'm Swedish, she's American.
* We met over the internet in November 1998.
* I went to meet her in April 1999 (Visa Waiver Program) and left back to
Sweden within 90 days (before the VISA ran out).
* I went back to see her (July 1999) after 2 weeks in Sweden, obtaining a
B-2 Tourist VISA. I stayed until August 2000, i.e. overstayed the VISA by
more than 180 days.
* I went back to see her the same Christmas on with new passport, without
problems, and again in the summer, when she left with me back to Sweden.
* We've lived in Sweden since, although going back to the US to visit her
family. Never running into any problems at the border.
* We got married in the US during one of our visits in the summer of 2003.

We are now considering moving to the US, but I'm worried about the time I overstayed, how will that be looked upon when we file the application?

Would really appreciate the advice.
Best Regards
Nik

Having overstayed your visa once, you technically are barred from returning to the US unless you first receive a waiver.
