Hi,
I'm french and applying for a J1 visa throught the CIEE. In the application for, you have to tell if you alreday applied for a green card and if so "If submit explanatory documentation with this application."
What should I tell them? and what documents am I to send with this?
The reasons why I applied for a green card are:
1/ My boyfriend is in the us, and if things go well between the 2 of us, I want to ba able to come and be with him, for more than simple vacations, and I know the delays for the green card are long, I'll be back to france for my internship oral exam before I'll have the green card (if I do)
2/ I'm young and want to give myself all the possibilities to work in a foreign country if I can.

So please help me, I don't want to mess up my application and I really want to do this internship in the US.

Thanks forward ,and thank you for beeing available to "us" like that.

Sincerly
Cecile DELMAS

J-1 Visa Application & Pending Green Card Application

It’s not clear from your post what type of green card application you’ve already submitted, so it's difficult to give you a precise answer.

In any event, if an I-130 petition, I-140 petition, I-485 application, or DS-230 application has already been submitted, then you should have a receipt notice that you can present to CIEE.

If indeed you have started the green card application, then it could now be difficult to get a J-1 visa. In order to get a J-1 visa, you have to show that you don’t plan to permanently immigrate to the US. Having started the green card application process obviously shows that you do plan to immigrate to the US, and therefore your J-1 application could be denied.

You should speak to the attorney processing your green card application to clarify things.
