Hi

I came to usa as a student in august 1999 as a f-1 student, I graduated in may 2004 and got married , my husband has a green card and he got that through the lottery .The date on his green card is august 31st 2001 he will be eligible to apply for his citizenship on May 1st 2006.I am still on f-1 as i joined the college after my opt was over. Can he apply for my green card when he applies for his citizenship, so that when he gets his citizenship i get my greencard OR
he first needs to be a citizen in order to sponsor me.

Thanks
sonia

You should simply wait until your husband becomes a citizen to apply for you green card.
