Hello Mr Weiner,
First of all I'd like to thank you for all the answers you give on your website, and how fast you take care of them. It's been very helpful to me.

I did a 4 month internship under a J1 visa this past spring/summer. The place for which I worked is opening a position. I want to apply.
I have the possiblity to get a visa through either the OMI-AIPT or the OMI-FACC agreements. (the fees are lower than a working visa making it a lot more attractive to the cie). But it seems that both are J1 visa.
I heard that 2 J1 visa is rarely possible. Is it really the case? And in which cases can you obtain a second one?

Thank you for you help.

Cecile

Thank you for your message & kind words about the forum.

There are more than 10 different types of J-1 visas, and it sounds like perhaps you previously had a J-1 summer work/travel visa. If so, you can now apply for a J-1 trainee visa with no problem.

On the other hand, if you previously had a J-1 trainee visa, it’s true that before it was rather difficult to get a second one. It now seems easier. If you’re having any difficulty, try contacting Parenthèse in Paris as I know they are successful in getting second visas.

Best of luck.
