County court judgement

Hi there,

I have lived in the US for around 5 years now, on an L1-A visa. I will soon be applying for my final 2 year extension and at some point next year I will be moving for a green card.

Last year I ran into some financial difficulty and in one case, my landlord issued a judgement against me. I never ever went to court. I paid the money right away but it's on my credit record.

Will this cause me any problems with my visa extension?

Since then, I have things back on track and have no other issue hanging over me, no traffic offenses or anything like that.

Please advise.

Thanks

If your case was entirely a civil matter and there was no criminal charge or conviction, then you have nothing to worry about. Keep on working!
