Hello, I filed for my wife as a GC holder (I-130) in April 2004. Sept 2005, I became a US Citizen, and asked to upgrade her file. In Dec 2005, I got a letter saying her file was moved to the California processing center for faster processing.

I put in my SRC# online to check the status and it shows they received it Feb 6th, 2006 (yes 2006), and this type of case can take anywhere between 900 to 999 days.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? Everytime I call for something they tell me the case has changed dates, so I have to wait 60 days... Please help! thanks.

You need to fax a form (I130 Lawful Permanent Resident Upgraded to USC Fax Sheet) to the California Service Center (CSC) to notify them that you are now a US Citizen. If you have an attorney who is a member of AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association), he/she can obtain the form for you through the AILA website.

If you don’t have an attorney you should contact the USCIS National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 for assistance – hopefully they’ll be able to help you.
