Birth Place in Passport : i-485

I want to apply for 1-485 and 1-130 together but my passport has a different birth place then what my birth certificate, the Country of birth is same its just place of birth (city).Please advice me what do I need to do can I just apply with the same document.

I am in USA and I tried to correct my passport with the issuing country but the embassy told me that I need to send it back to my home country to get it corrected can you please help me in this issue.

Discrepancy between Your Passport & Birth Certificate

The discrepancy should not be a problem as long as the information on your birth certificate is correct.
