PERMANENT RESIDENT WITHOUT GREENCARD.. yet!

Hi, Im an immigrant in the U.S just arived about 2 weeks ago. But Im about to go home to the Philippines to finish my last semester of college next week. I haven't received my green card yet. If I go home, Can I return to the U.S? Please I need help..

Proof of LPR Status

In order to travel back to the US, you’ll need proof of your LPR status (i.e., your green card status). The I-551 stamp placed in your passport upon your initial arrival in the US serves as a temporary green card for a 1-year period. If you’ll be out of the US for more than 1 year, you’ll need to apply for a reentry permit BEFORE leaving the US.
