Citizenship for baby born in USA

I have heard that if your child is born in USA he/she will get the USA citizenship automatically. Also the parents can also have citizenship along with. We are on H1/H4 rightnow.

Please clarify whether is there any option to have permanent residence status in this way?

All children born in the US automatically acquire US citizenship. You, as parents, however, do not, and you’ll have to wait until your child turns 21 to be sponsored for a family-based green card.
