Sponsorship through US Citizen Sister

Your US Citizen sister can indeed sponsor you for a green card, but the process will take more than 10 years. Moreover, her filing an I-130 petition – which is the first step in the process – will not give you any legal status in the US.

For a more detailed description of getting a green card through a family member, see the family-based permanent visa page of our website (your case will fall in the 4th preference category):

Your best bet is to try to apply for a work visa or a trainee visa after completing your studies.
