We are British, living in England and are very keen to live permanantly in the USA. My husband is 47 and a fully qualified mechanical engineer and has been in the industry for 16 years I am 48. I work as an administrator. We have approx £120,000 in equity in our house.
My husband has 3 aunts who have been American citizens for 17 years. What are our chances and how do we begin? I would appreciate any information you can offer. Are we too old?

US Visa Options

It’s never too late! Many of my clients begin second careers in the US well into their 40s and 50s.

With your husband’s background as a mechanical engineer, he could easily qualify for a work visa. Work visas require the sponsorship of a US employer.

The E-2 investor visa is another popular option, particularly among my clients who are looking to begin a career in the US in an entirely new direction. The E-2 visa can be used for a variety of different businesses, such as opening a B&B, a restaurant, etc.

If you’d like to further discuss your visa options with me, please feel free to contact our office to schedule a telephone consultation.
