Hi

I am currently located in the UK and am looking to move to the US. I would like to get into the communications field, specifically radio. I have been offered a job in Wisconsin and the employer is willing to sponsor me. I was wondering what I need to do to start the ball rolling. The company specializes in radio tower maintenance, and I know he finds it hard employing people to climb 600ft in the air! Would this job be suitable for a H1-B visa? Or is there another visa I would have to apply for. Like I said earlier, my intentions would be to gain full residency in the US. Are there any visas that would fit my situation?

Thanks for your help.

H-1B visas are limited to professions that require a bachelor’s degree, and, without more information about the position, I’m not sure if radio tower maintenance would qualify for H-1B status.

Depending on your experience in your field, an O-1 visa, which in some ways is a more flexible visa, may be an option. For a general overview of the different categories of US work visas, visit the Visa Page of our website:
