HI I was in America from December 06 till October 07 on a student exchange. I also have a boyfriend who I have been with for going on 4 years now and we have decided that the distance part of our relationship needs to end therefore I am wanting to move to the states to be with him. However, I have found my only REAL options are to get married or the DV Lottery. We are still qute young and whilst we do want to get married we don't want it to be this soon or because immigration "made us".

I have applied for the DV Lottery 2009 but have a few questions.

I know it says I will receive the letter between May and July if I do get selected but when do they normally come? Is it likely I will get one in May? How likely do you feel it is that I would get selected?

If I am selected for it how long will it be before I am able to actually BE in the US? Is it possible for me to be there by the end of ths year?

Is there any other way I can get into the US? the student (not enough money) and working (not a skilled worker yet.) visas will not work for me..

THANK YOU

If you are selected for the DV lottery, your visa interview will take place at some point between October 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009. The exact month will depend on your case number. For a description of DV lottery processing, visit our website at:

http://www.immigration-aux-usa.com/diversity_lottery.html (the page hasn’t been updated since 2003 so the dates are a bit off, but the description of DV processing hasn’t’ changed)

If you have a university degree and have been offered a qualifying position, you may be eligible for an E-3 work visa. For more information on E-3 visas, please feel free to contact us directly.
