Hi there,
First off, if a doctor has already decided that you probably won't conceive then he/she is not the right doc for you. Yes, it's true that women, like us, with elevated (and yours is elevated, not high) FSH will most likely have some problems conceiving au natual, we are not doomed! I'm 33, my highest FSH is 12.4 and I've never been told that. In fact, age is on our side, we're young (relatively speaking) and our eggs, while diminished, still have a very good chance at being fertilized with the right manipulations and accommodations. My RE has always said "age trumps everything" and I believe her. So, have you had an antral follicle count done? HSG? Hysteroscopy? Have you had your E2, Prolactin, Progesterone, TSH, Inhibin B levels drawn??
You need to find an RE that will do all of that, and who will take a much more rational approach to you; this RE sounds likes he/she is not "high fsh" friendly and you need someone who is.
I know it's scary. You're just starting your journey and it will get easier with the more (accurate) knowledge you gather about this topic. The women on this board are VERY knowledgeable and willing to help.
Hang in there, my friend. You are going to be fine.
