Question about IVF and doxycyline.

Hi ladies-
DH and I are about a week out from starting stims for our first IVF cycle!! I just got the calender from the IVF nurse. She shows us both starting 100 mg doxycycline on CD 2 every 12 hours for 7 days. Then I start again at egg retrieval for 5 days. Is this typical? For those of you who have done IVF, did you do this? Why does DH have to be on it? Thanks for any insight and baby dust to you all!!! Suzanne
