Just to put this out there because I personally find all the "rah rah, you should totally try!" on this board off-putting myself.
Is it possible that if you put an enormous amount of time, energy and money into this you will get pregnant. It is even possible that you can keep trying on your own, and manage to get pregnant. But the odds are against you in any given cycle. My advice is to contact your insurance company and find out what they will cover, and who they will cover. Find a doctor who specializes in high FSH, and get a price list from him. Understand that even with that in hand, it's hard to know ahead of time what drugs exactly your doctor will recommend (as they may be rejiggered based on your response), and what procedures exactly will be necessary. Once you have that, think about how many cycles you can afford. Try not to tell yourself, "it will all be worth it, if I get a baby out of it," because you may not. So the question is, how much can you afford to lose on a gamble? (Things to factor into such considerations: giving up my next vacation? Okay. Losing the house? Not so much.)
In my situation, my husband is actually much more gung-ho than I. I wont consider DE. We had determined we could afford 3 cycles, but it looks like this cycle will be cancelled, so what is this? Half a cycle? The drugs are crazy expensive all on their own. I don't even know. The beauty of this process is all the unknowns that keep getting thrown into the mix.
