Response to Re: Single in Virginia/DC FSH 30, 36 y.o.

You ladies are so helpful, my nurse told me today the doctors wants a full thyroid panel, I asked if I should just go see an endocronologist instead and she said I could but that usually they just have the patient do the full thyroid panel and then decide if you need to go to an endocronologist. I wonder if it makes a difference though in who orders it (e.g. endocronologist for general health perhaps vs. fertility doctor for fertility issues). She ordered the labs already and so I'll call the insurance when the order arrives in the mail this week. They also said to proceed with the HSG test and go back for a fasting test for prolactin and she said the high FSH doesn't mean I can't have children, just means that I'm not a good candidate for fertility stimulation.. so maybe there is hope yet?
