  • IVF without PIO shots - any success out there?

My first try at ivf in February ended up in a Chemical pg. Have started BCPs for ivf#2 in June. Was totally traumatized by the PIO shots (the actual shots were not that bad - in fact pretty okay on some days and on others it felt like the needle touched a nerve or something. I would ice diligently which helped with the shots and then use a heating pad even at the office to disperse the meds) - I am still really sore - any little movement like jumping hurts and still bruised. So wondering if any of you have had success with just suppositories and maybe Crinone instead? RE says it should be fine because in Europe they no longer use the PIO shots for every cycle. Only problem is the Progesterone levels in the blood cannot be accurately monitored when using anything else other than PIO.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated because the flip side is that if ivf#2 fails then I'll be double guessing my self and wondering if it's because I opted out of the shots.
