With this protocol you can kind of do both...

My story is completely the 'exception not the rule' but I'm 37, my FHS was up in the 50's and Dr. Check's estinyl protocol got my FSH down to normal levels with only two rounds. But, I was always getting my AF on time and making a follicle every month.

I was on BCP for 15 years, took a few months to get off them, started trying for 6 months, saw the Dr., went to a RE, saw her for a year, did IVF and thing just kept getting worse. No pg ever, FSH climbing, hot flashes, general ick... Now my levels are normal, I have three follicle this cycle and things look very good. I still need some meds to get this far and I still have not had a BFP but we wanted to try a few cycles. And, at least if we don't get a BFP, they have gotten me out of early menopause and stopped the hot flashes, reduced my chances of all the scary thing that come with early menapause and, for me, that is worth the risk the extra hormones can be associated with.

So, if they can try a protocol like this, you might be able to do both. It absolutely does not work for everyone, some people try it and it doesn't work, some try it and their FSH jumps up as soon as they are off. But, so me, it had be wonderful!

      Good luck to you!

(If you are looking for more info search my name, Sara H and estinyl and more info should come up.I don't think there is a totally set protocol, I think they try you on it and see how you respond, then adjust as needed.)
