My Re put me on birth control and estatest for 3 weeks. To restart my body.(he also said to give my ovaries a break.) So I got my period with the most painful cramps I have ever had. Then we were going to do a natural ivf cycle.I am on cd26 nothing no follie e2 still less than 32.This is so strange because I always get a follie. I think the bc and estratest messed my system up.Of course the Re's are saying it has nothing to do with the bc and the estratest. That it is my screwed up body. I don't get it. I am so confused and worried this is it . Has this happened to anyone?

Due to my high fsh (24.5) I got oversurpressed with bcp once before an IVF round and oversurp with lupron as well before an IVF round.

I went on to do natural IVF rounds without any supression and ended up with 1 follie first time and 2 the next.

for your body to get back to normal? (normal for us that is) My fsh is very high.Do you think that is why?I am nervous that I am out of eggs.

I just posted above....

that I think estrace in the luteal phase over suppressed me for this cycle. I hope things turn around, but they are moving slow. This happened to me on microdose lupron too. Basically you will end up ovulating......but it will take a while. Hang in there! This is all so frustrating. Last cycle I had a crazy early dominant and ovulated on CD 9, so I wanted to prevent that again and now I'm really getting a slow start........just taking lots of deep breaths.

BCPs are not good for high FSH girls like us. I learned that the hard way. I was oversuppressed on my first IVF, and the doctor admitted that the BCPs were the culprit. Your doctor is just trying to save face! The good news is yur body will return to normal in about 2-4 weeks, and now you know that BCP can't be part of your protocal. I'm not sure what age you are, but my RE put me on antagonist protocal w/ no BCPs. That cycle ended in a BFP, but it turned ectopic in the end.

OVersuppression SUCKS!!! But you'll move on. Try not to worry too much. I know it's hard!

Erin

Absolutely YES!

I was a poor responder on 3 IVF cycles where we used BCP suppression. Those cycles ended up being cancelled. Subsequently, I've responded fantastically using high stims and no BCP suppression. I was worried that this approach would cause me to have dominant follies, but I have made it to retrieval each time with excellent responses and no dominants. Based on my experience, I'd say that BCPs were unnecessary and may have been responsibile for my poor response to stims.
Good luck!

I feel relieved knowing my body will bounce back. And that other people have had the same experience.(unfortunatley) Well, I learned my lesson. No bcp's for me.
