CD 9 u/s - not too sure about this cycle (x-post)

On CD 2 I had 2<10 on the left and on the right 2<5. We didn't do baseline b/w. Today CD 9 I have on the left 2< 5 and on the right 1 just under 10mm and 3 <10. So probably only 4 possible contenders since the ones on the left seem to be getting smaller. We went ahead and did E2 and that is what has me concerned. It is only 57. Usually I am up around 100 at this point even if the follies are around 10 or under. I'm thinking the Estrace in the luteal phase over-supressed me. My RE thinks that since I'm only 2 days off of Femara, the estrogen is still rebounding from that. I will be adding 75 Menopur to hopefully get that E2 to come up. I started 300 Follistim on Wednesday evening and will continue with that. Next u/s is Tuesday, CD 12. Have you guys had your E2 be slow to climb like this? Heck, I've had higher E2 readings on CD 2!!! Oh well, deep breaths. At least I had 2 more follies show up on the right.....so 6 are there......they just need to bloom.

Hi..

May 17 2008, 1:25 PM

4 follies in play is an awesome number-- as far as the E2 goes, it sometimes needs a little time to get rising, but once you add that Meopure to the mix-- it should be a E2 and a follie p-a-r-t-y.....

Another positive is-- no early O for you this month!

Hang in there girlie-- I am rootin' for you!!!!!

Yep, no early O! So funny, last month I was bound and determined to prevent crazy early follies and pressed my RE for the estrace, now I'm freaking out, thinking....where are my follies!! LOL!! Coming off 3 really fast cycles, this was just a big change. I never can read my RE....He doesn't like early O, but then he doesn't like late O......ah well, hopefully they will have a growth spurt by CD 12. Here's hoping that menopur does the trick.

It is a good number of follies....I know in the past my RE likes to see that E2 at 80 or 100 by now to indicate "background activity" or something like that that indicates the follicles are responding.....but each cycle is so different, this one could turn out good. Sometimes I think I know just enough to work myself into a frenzy of concern. Thanks for the support....I'm gonna do my fertility yoga later and think positive thoughts.

xoxo, Tracy

It is yoga...

designed to enhance fertility. I actually ended up not doing it yesterday......it was just too darn hot!!! I got Yoga 4 Fertility with Brenda Strong at my Acupuncturists office. If I ever manage to crack the box open and do it, I'll let you know how I like it. They sale it and others on amazon.com too.

Re: CD 9 u/s - not too sure about this cycle (x-post)

May 17 2008, 2:39 PM

My first IVF cycle started just like that. I believe on CD 9 my E2 was 55 and I had one or two small follicles. I was devasted but they kept me going to see if I would progress. Well, I did and ended up triggering on CD 17 with an E2 of 1405 and they retrieved 8 eggs, which for me is good. But that was a long and miserable two weeks..thinking every day I would be cancelled.

My RE said the other day she doesn't care how slowly I progressed and that she was happy with my response. We would have been happier if it was a BFP but maybe next time

just what I needed to hear!!!

Thanks so much for sharing that! This is actually an IUI cycle, but due to my age......we are really trying to get as many eggs as we can for each cycle. Man, if I ended up with 8, I might just raid my 401K and do another IVF! Thanks again for the hope!

That happened to me!! (pg ment)

May 17 2008, 2:46 PM

My estrogen was very low and slow rising with my IVF. They added menopur to the mix on cd 10 and it shot right up! I was freaking out cause the follies were growing so slow, and the RE kept saying he wants them to grow slow the slower the better, but of course not too much. Then I ended up having my retrieval on cd15 and it was a success! So I would say this is a definite positive!

Best of luck!

This is why I love this board. For better or worse you guys are here to share your experience, strength and hope! This has got to be better than having a 22mm on CD 8, which is what happened last month. Looking forward to my menopur dose this evening.

In my monitored cycle...

May 17 2008, 7:25 PM

a couple of months ago, my e2 was only 50ish on cd 9 (was a natural cycle). By cd15 it was up around 200 and I ovulated late two days later.

So, yes, I'd say it can happen. You may O later than usual, tho.

Hugs,
Meg

Re: CD 9 u/s - not too sure about this cycle (x-post)

May 18 2008, 10:32 PM

I just wanted to wish you luck Tracy!! I'm definitely cheering you on. BTW, I also have the Yoga 4 Fertility w/ Brenda Strong. I do it occasionally, but not as often as I would like. I do think it helps and just you mentioning it has reminded me to keep at it! (I really like the idea of yoga and think it's helpful, but I'm just one of those people who find it VERY challenging. I am SSSOOOO not flexible and during the entire thing I'm pretty much swearing under my breath and pleading for each pose to hurry up and end. But again, I do think it's a good video for those who don't find yoga as tortuous as I do!)

Take care!
