brainstorm request- supposed to have callback with dr c heck tonightFebruary 28 2012 at 3:47 AM

not even 100% sure if this will happen now-
before my SIS i scheduled a callback with dr c. heck.
after dr b found that my fibroid needs removal, i had done day 3 blood but then was told not to go for day 10 u/s or b/w. so im not really "with" them this month. not sure if they will remove me from the callback list. i HOPE NOT!
if dr c heck calls me ..can anyone suggest some questions i might want to ask him about returning to business after the surgery? background- the plan was to do some TI for 3 months and then move to IVF before i'm 40 (august) now that i'll be losing 2 cycles (this one and next month) that puts me at the end of april, early may to resume trying again and closer to the big 4-0.
any insight/ideas what would be good to pick his brain about tonight..would be great.
presurgical testing today for me!! surgery is thursday at 230. was hoping for morning but i will take it, they got me in so fast!
Wishing you good luck teresa!

I really hope your fibroid is removed easily and comfortably and that you'll be free and clear to move on asap! As for the call-back with C.heck, I don't have much advice except to say I think I would be proactive and call the office and tell them that you would like to make sure they keep the call-back appt. Take care and sending good thoughts...
I think you're fine

They won't just cancel it without notification. It could be really late before you hear from him though, be aware! When I had mine with him I was about to give up and go to bed when the call finally came. I would just make a list of questions to cover with him so you don't forget anything. GL!

Ask for specifics

I just have a sec so I'm going to be brief:) I would start with baseline u/s. What does he want to see? FSH should be what? How would he proceed? You mentioned that you would take meds- what meds, how much and on what days? How many follicles does he want to mature? I would also think of "if/then" scenarios. Like if your FSH is elevated on CD2/3, then what? I would just nail him down on the complete plan for the cycle, including after O. That way you can make sure what the nurse tells you during a callback matches what he wants. And if it doesn't, you can call them on it right then and there. Hope my quick thoughts make sense:)
Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you!!

AJ, THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS I WROTE ALL OF THEM DOWN AND WILL ASK
THIS MORNING WHEN I WENT FOR PRE-SURGICAL TESTING, I NOTICED THAT THEY HAD D+C IN ADDITION TO THE HYSTEROSCOPY AND MYOMA RESECTION...DID YOU ALSO GET A D+C? THIS MAKES ME NERVOUS SINCE THIS WOULD BE MY THIRD ONE AND THAT JUST CANT BE GOOD I WOULD IMAGINE...OR IS IT STANDARD FOR THIS SURGERY. I AM GOING TO SPEAK TO THE DR BEFORE THE SURGERY THURSDAY BUT WANTED TO ASK YOU SINCE YOUVE BEEN THROUGH THIS. THANK YOU!!!

I did have a D&C with mine. It was my 3rd as well and the RE didn't seem to be concerned. I think that's standard because of the procedure but as always I could be wrong. I had AF about a week later and it was still a pretty good bleed so I don't think they removed that much tissue in addition to the fibroid.

thanks for getting back to me on that so fast, i feel much better now, knowing you had it also. seems that it goes with the fibroid surgery. you made me feel better. its good you got AF as normal, i hope i do too. fingers crossed.
were you cleared to start trying again right away? my dr said i had to wait one cycle. thanks again, AJ!

I had a lot of your same concerns prior to my hyster do I'm happy to help any way I can:). I got the ok to start trying the very next cycle by both C.heck and the RE who did my surgeon. Your procedure may be more intense than mine so you might hear differently. I hope not though!!
thanks again, AJ

I hope you call goes well, as does your surgery. I feel bad that I haven't been on the boards too much offering support, I got sick, and then lots of personal issues arose...at any rate, I saw that you have the surgery scheduled and I hope all goes well! Let us know how the call goes!
