I'm on Day 5, set for a mini-IVF cycle w/Cooper. On Day 3, nurses said b/w on Day 5 would determine whether I can start Bravelle shots. My results were faxed to them by 10am (I checked!), and I NEVER got a call.
I don't know what to do and feel scared that this could potentially mess up my cycle. I'm not going to start Bravelle unless I get the OK, and now I won't hear until Mon.
I don't understand why they don't have a better system to deal with this...email or or at least a messaging service that someone checks. Or does this qualify as "a medical emergency"-- the only other option offered on their line? I think it's an IVF emergency, but not a medical one.
Thus happened to some one else on this board (mrs mcirish) a few months ago (back in Feb if you want to search for it) everyone here advised her to call as an emergency...a doctor called her back and gave her instructions. Sso I would call as an emergency and a doctor should call you back. The same day that happened to mrs mcirish I also had problems getting a call back but I was very early in my cycle so it wasn't critical for me. I personally don't know if 2 days will make a difference with stims but we are paying for these treatments and we deserve to get calls back on this stuff. I have also learned to fax AND leave a message in case the fax goes missing which has also happened to me. It agree they need a better process to deal with situations like this...i am sorry you are experiencing this but if you are really worried I would call.
They are disorganized and by day 7 you could very well have a lead follicle (they started me on day 7 once and I did). Call whomever you need to there to get ahold of someone.
I did end up calling the 'emergency number' and talked w/my doc about 30 min later. Good thing, b/c my E2 level was already rising a bit (VERY unusual for me this early in the cycle), so was given instructions to start the Bravelle to hopefully head off the lead follicle issue you mentioned.
I will see what the explanation is for the no-call-back on Mon, but am relieved to know I can use that number should this situation happen in the future.
