Cool - I just looked at the draft of my wedding speech and it mentions:

-mile
-pint
-fathom

And I didn't deliberately do that!

A pro-choice Welshman named Steve
Said: "To my bride I'm now going to cleave.
I'll still visit these Boards,
That is - if time still affords,
When I'm not playing 'Adam and Eve'"

Congratulations to you Steve and to your other, er 50% (or 0.5)

Sounds more like a eulogy if you are going to use those terms.

Two quotes from speech that "accidentally" got imperial measures in them:

"I first met her in 'Chicagos' night club and I was at the bar - I thought to myself, what a beauty what an absolute beauty, perfect in every sense - how lucky could I be? I was totally mesmerised.

It was the finest pint of Strongbow I'd ever been served - filled right to the brim and with a beautiful gold colour"

#and#

"When I first went to her house some days later I really could not fathom out what she found attractive in me....

...as I arrived in my Lotus Esprit S4s turbo with only 4000 miles on the clock"

If you laugh to either of those, do tell.

I have 2 days left....

That is poor English there, Steve; it is not "fathom out", but "fathom". Too much time with Welshies, methinks... :P ;) :D Good luck with married life my friend.

Are you sure its not "fathom out" - you know - like "work out"?

Anyway - was it funny or not?!?!

I want to know if I will get tumbleweed or not!!!!

Funny is subjective. I think it would work in the context of a wedding speech.
