Why don't you join the USMA listserver for awhile. Then you can tell them all about how the UK is not metric at all. Tell them all about choice.

Hmm.. trying to ridicule Steve by implying he holds a view that he does not. Nice. That view being that Steve claimed the UK is not metric at all- in fact Steve has MANY times claimed that this country is part-metric, part-Imperial, and that he even uses and (shock horror) LIKES some metric units for some purposes.

Of course he knows this Bryan.

He cannot be obnoxious, however, unless he selectively blocks out things that give moderation.

Thus he even does that classic psycholigical trai (which I cannot remember the name of) where one accuses another of doing exactly what one is doing.

An old and simple example of this is shouting : "***STOP SHOUTING***". But in euric's case it goes beyond the simple example. Maybe someone on this board knows the name of this condition.

Anyhoo - I'm sure you know, Bryan, that I actually enjoy his rubbish and especially the personal and nasty stuff.

Some people can get a bit sensitive to having you wife talked about or being directly insulted for having a differing view - I, however, adore it!

Think of it this way,

If you walk into a pub and see two men arguing about something (something that you don't necessarily know the answer to, because you haven't caught the subject of the argument) - and one is calmly holding his pint of cider explaining his take on the facts of the argument articulating why he believes he is right while on the other hand the other man has slammed his 600ml glass of shandy down onto the table and is mainly calling the other man names and talking about his wife who isn't there and is pointing at others in the pub shouting that they are wrong too and then accuses the "calm" man of the stuff he's just been doing ---- who would you believe?

And what if, after losing his rag, he stubornly goes quiet for a while?



BTW - the pub I'm talking about confiscates mallets at the door.
