It seems Steve has taken his "Distract and Divert" tactics to a new level. Instead of signing up to the USMA site to discuss metrication he goes there to stir up a storm. How clever!
Steve, I hope you plan on staying there and posting more. Of course I hope you do more then just bring up "Euric said this and Euric said that". Tell them how wonderful imperial is and how much the MAJORITY of people in the UK are very, very, very unhappy having to confront metric. I'm sure they will love to hear that.
Tell them all about how your "friends" converted metric road signs to imperial. How the metre has changed with each definition change, and all much, much more. But, I'm going to bet if you do stick around, you will stick tour "Distract and Divert" methods you do so well with here.
I'm just dying to see how they respond to your post. I will keep everyone here posted.

Actually I was hoping that SteveH would continue to post on the USMA as well. I think that the USMA list-serve could benefit from Steve's posting. Though I don't always agree with SteveH, I think he makes a lot of since sometimes. Besides, if the point of the USMA list-serve is to discuss ways to advance metric, then someone like Steve would be good at pointing out failures to metricate the UK and perhaps help us in the US to not make those same mistakes. Maybe it'd liven things up for one; it's been pretty dead lately it seems (unless you find punch cards interesting). Things have been pretty dull since you've stopped posting, Euric. I'm glad to see your still subscribed and just choosing not to post. I was actually beginning to think that you had been completely kicked off.
Any way's Steve, feel free to participate in the USMA list-serve, maybe it will liven things up a little.

OH yeah.

If you like to read divert and distract type of postings. You really need to look at all of Steve's postings and notice that he rarely, if ever, posts a counterpoint to a comment made, other then to mock the commenter or change the subject to get others distracted from the point he can not answer.
Besides, if the point of the USMA list-serve is to discuss ways to advance metric, then someone like Steve would be good at pointing out failures to metricate the UK and perhaps help us in the US to not make those same mistakes.
Oh yes! I can see it now! That will be the day that Steve actually helps metrication. Even though his attitude has done nothing to stop the onward movement in either his country or elsewhere.

If you would have been a member for longer then just a few weeks, you would have seen that off topic discussions are the norm. So my posting about the collapse of the US economy being the only way to bring about metrication were no different. Of course, if you are from the US you really don't want to hear that your all powerful nation is on the brink of collapse and you will have to endure hardship and poverty in the near future.
For awhile I was the only one submitting posts. Other then that it is a pretty dead site. When you posted for the first time you woke everyone up. Someone then posts something about candy wrappers and punch cards, a few of the sleepers will respond, then they go back to sleep. Rarely anything about actual metrication is ever discussed.
I stopped posting because I want to see what type of posts, if any, appear without my contributions.
Any way's Steve, feel free to participate in the USMA list-serve, maybe it will liven things up a little.
Yes, Steve, go ahead. Get a good fire going. I'll just sit back and enjoy.
Another thing..... If you want to read the posts to the USMA list server without being a member, you can click on the link above.
Now, Mr. Davis, are you posting to the USMA site as Rodney Jones? You posted to this site as Jeff Davis, Geoffrey Davis close enough but different and USMA visitor. I thought you were trying to pretend to be the Confederate president.
The only Davis I know who ever posted there was Stephen Davis of the UK, who is very pro-metric. But, no Jeff or Geoffrey has posted there.

No, I don't post to the USMA as Rodney Jones, I don't usually post to the USMA list-serve (I really don't post here either). I post as 'Augustine' on the USMA list-serve, and I think I've only posted once asking if anyone had a suggestion on finding a metric product. If the topic turns more interesting on the USMA list-serve you might see me post there more.
It took me a while to settle on a name to use and I have no idea why 'Jeff Davis' popped into my head (yes I did think of the CS president as I thought of the name, and I do live in the South). I finally settled on the name 'Geoffrey Davis', and it will be staying that.

You're a very sad man "euric" - and I do actually feel sorry for you - especially the solitude of opinion.
My post to their "listserv" was to highlight the fact that you were ridiculing them here, even *BY NAME*. By doing this I opened up the channel so that rather than being talked about behind backs they would know that your antics are continuing elsewhere. If I do get into conversation over there then it will be based upon something called "debate" - a concept quite alien to you - well apart from a lengthening of that word, if you get my meaning ;-)
It's interesting to hear that many people stopped posting to the USMA site because of your behaviour - something that pro-mets, pro-imps and pro-choicers might want to think about here especially now that the "inner boards" have lit up again since eric/metre (euric's terrible twin) stopped posting there.
I have an honest (look it up) question for you though - do you believe that your personal and insulting and sometimes threatening posts affect me in any way? And if so how do you think this manifests itself? I'm genuinely fascinated and interested to know this as I believe I almost understand your mental state of mind.
Anyhoo, I'd like to remind you of another post I made here that is very poigniant to your wonderful comments about me above :
1) Who's banned from the main (inner) boards due to unruly behaviour and overuse of cut-n-paste of irrelevent information?
2) Who actually answers any of your messages?
3) Who actually reads any of you messages (besides me!!)?
4) Who engages in two way dialogue with myself compared to yourself? (clue - for one person its "everyone" for the other person its "no-one")
5) Who has even p--sed off the side he's meant to represent so much that he's actually been banned from it leaving him no option to troll on a site where he disagrees with everyone?
6) Who has made personal and nasty comments?
7) Who has been proven to lie consistantly?
8) Who's wealth of knowledge stems from [CTRL]+C [CTRL]+V?
9) Who can you claim to be "on your side"?
10) Who posts nonsense about the US economy as an argument against imperial usage in the UK (which, of course, "doesn't exist") ?
11) Who bangs on about 500gramme "pounds" despite an established professional in the field telling him that would not be legal?
12) Who makes up silly names for "imperial"?
13) Who keeps changing their post name to distract and divert?
14) Who has posted as the SAME NAME as another poster in order to distract and divert?
15) (Thus) Who is a big hypocrite?
16) Who has come close to being banned from even this free-ish site for being so extreme?
17) Who, when completely stuffed, exits these boards only to come back later when the dust has settled on numorous lies?
18) Who cannot admit to being wrong (and thus is the first poster here to claim that accolade)?
19) Who, on the metric side, has ever backed you up or given credence to you views?
20) Who has sunk so low as to pretend 12" records are metric, Big Ben is metric, soccer and baseball are metric and Saddam is a fan of the euro?
Just have a guess who!

It's been over 100 ks since you posted to the USMA site and so far no one has responded to your nonsense or on any other topic for that matter. They may have gone back to sleep.
You may want to wake them up by posting something clever about Tesco. Use your mallet and make some noise. Wake them up.

I've covered that already:
2) Who actually answers any of your messages?
3) Who actually reads any of you messages (besides me!!)?
7) Who has been proven to lie consistantly?
9) Who can you claim to be "on your side"?
18) Who cannot admit to being wrong (and thus is the first poster here to claim that accolade)?
19) Who, on the metric side, has ever backed you up or given credence to you views?
And you haven't answered my question yet. Please answer it.
BTW - Have a guess at how many emails I've received since I posted that note on USMA site?
All complimentary!

What question did you ask? And why should I answer your questions when you avoid mine?
BTW - Have a guess at how many emails I've received since I posted that note on USMA site?
All complimentary!
So, does that mean you are going to become a follower of metric instead of obsolete units, agree that vinyl records are not 12 inches, remnant use of non-metric is restricted to inch trade names, and campaign for metrication of UK roads, etc.?
Now, take the number of compliments you got and that should give you a rough estimate of the number of posters to the USMA site, all of which are pro-metric, and then compare them to the number of posters here, only some who are on your side. So, between the two sites, how many would you say are pro-metric vs. pro-nonmetric? Now, don't answer that for my sake, but for the sake of those on your side.

In this one you've covered the follwoing:
2) Who actually answers any of your messages?
4) Who engages in two way dialogue with myself compared to yourself? (clue - for one person its "everyone" for the other person its "no-one")
7) Who has been proven to lie consistantly?
9) Who can you claim to be "on your side"?

To answer your last daft question you need to know the difference between "the general public" and people who have discovered a topical website (probably by accident) and are debating there.
Now answer my question!
i.e. "I have an honest (look it up) question for you though - do you believe that your personal and insulting and sometimes threatening posts affect me in any way? And if so how do you think this manifests itself? I'm genuinely fascinated and interested to know this as I believe I almost understand your mental state of mind."

That isn't an answer. That is one of your divert and distract responses.
Now answer my question!

It must! Since you go to such great lengths to respond. You have written metres of text so I would say you are deeply affected. You are sooooooooooooo easy.
Like I said, if I disappeared, you'd be bored to tears from the others. You really need to find another interest.
Bye Bye

<<That isn't an answer. That is one of your divert and distract responses. >>
ie you disagree thus cannot compute - based upon:
18) Who cannot admit to being wrong (and thus is the first poster here to claim that accolade)?
17) Who, when completely stuffed, exits these boards only to come back later when the dust has settled on numorous lies?
<<It must! Since you go to such great lengths to respond.>>
Don't you see it? For each post you place I get a bit more insight into your mental state.
Without the baiting I won't get anywhere will I?
<<You have written metres of text>>
I would go to say miles of text - if you look into the history of the posts here!
<<so I would say you are deeply affected.>>
Tell me more - how is it that I am deeply affected? What are the symptoms of it, in your mind? And in which way do you perceive me to be affected? Could it be sorrow? anger? bitterness? resentment? Tell me more! I suggest that I am close to making a discovery.
<< You are sooooooooooooo easy.>>
In what way 'easy'? Do I "bite" too often, in your mind? Am I easily proved wrong by yourself? Is there some form of superiority that you possess that means I cannot be correct and 'others' (from all 'sides') will eventually realise that you are always correct? Could there ever be a situation where you could end up being 'wrong'? Is that possible? If you were being outwitted, would you close communications - even barring emails from entering your email box?
<<Like I said, if I disappeared, you'd be bored to tears from the others.>>
I suggest you take a look at the conversations within the areas of this discussion forums where you have been barred from posting - depsite re-joining under a different identity. It could well help you out.
<<You really need to find another interest.>>
Yes perhaps I should - perhaps I might measure records in my spare time, or plan the collapse of the world's biggest economy. Could you help me with that?
