Here is another good post. Seems American efforts to force the oil industry in other countries to accept inch based tools and fasteners is meeting with strong resistance. A project was awarded to an American Engineer for going against the grain and designing a project entirely in metric including metric fasteners.

Good for him! The more business that goes to metric users the faster the non-metric businesses will be driven out of business.

Shouldn't you ask permission from the poster whether you can lift his post from the site you are banned from ?

He bit!

And notice folks, he didn't respond to the actual post as usual.

But to answer your question. There is no need to. I didn't copy the post. I only provided the link to the PUBLIC site where it can be found.

Now, please respond to what the man said.

Even if sites can be publicly "read" it cannot be inferred that permission is automatically granted.

Otherwise people would be copy and pasting swathes of stuff from lots of different websites.

Erm......

:-D

You still didn't comment on the fact that the oil industry outside the US is switching to metric. would you accept this as choice? That is someone or some industry freely choosing metric over imperial without force of government. you claim to be 'pro-choice', but seem to get very upset if someone freely chooses metric. Why?

Why are you asking questions about oil again?

I have no interest whatsoever in oil platforms etc, none of us here are likely to bump into one.

Your fascination with dragging down the USA is so transparent.

Do you think anyone here cares about your silly rants?

Ooh, sorry, could you explain "hegemony" again please? The efforts in such a post will be time well spent on people reading your posts here so please be as detailed as possible.

Interesting post. I remember reading something of this back on the USMA forum. It kind of shows that even though industries like American Chemical Engineering and Petroleum which are rooted in the English units, it doesn't mean they will stay that way.

It will be interesting to see to what point this will go before the English unit diehards start to scream foul!

What will be next?
