If you've read them in order, some of the references will become more germaine but read in ignorance, they remain quite steady as far as plot value goes. It's Koontz, how deep do you really suppose they might be? I just finished the last one, Odd Hours. The character is likeable but wearing thin. Koontz is a flyweight who occasionally scores a touchdown.
