a co-worker of mine died of lung cancer on friday night - this girl never smoked a day in her life and neither did anyone in her family - the drs. were at a loss as to how she contracted the disease - she was only 35 when she was diagnosed - she is/was 39 when she passed, leaving behind a 12 year old son and a loving second husband (who married her after she was diagnosed - proposed while she was on the chemo table) - she tried everything to survive - surgery, macrobiotic diet, etc. - she had everything to live for - she fought a really brave battle and at times even the drs. thought she was winning - i just feel so sad - and in a way, disgusted with myself - here is this lovely young girl who never tempted fate the way i do - and this is what happens to her - you just never know, do you? i know i've said this many times before, but this is it - i am quitting today - for heather -
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.
