No Smoking for Me in Indiana Today!

Gasoline in my home town: $3.95 a gal

The Temp in my town is 54 degrees it's gray outside & damp & just the kind of day that  you wish you were in a cabin with a tin roof & a nice warm quilt with your puppy & a good friend & a good cup of coffee

But, back to reality, i am going to go buy some eggs & make  deviled eggs for our carry-in at work today, and try to get ready to go in early.

And Hey, this isn't about smoking, but i have a Not Joy....but on the other hand i have a Big Joy.

Bad news is, my Aunt who is in her late 80's, her hubby is 90. She has a very bad heart & the doc says can't operate.  To let her do what she wants & if she gets out of breath, to sit down. We all have to die sometime. (That's just a fact & a reality...she really isn't capable of going thru the surgery).  And her hubby has a hip that has...ok, i'm going to try to spell it.....deteriated....very badly. It's very painful, and if the surgeon says they can do the hip replacement, they will have to check first with his heart doc.

The joy part: My Aunt has .....for as long as i can remember....hosted the family reunion every year.

So, knowing how important the reunions are for my Aunt, and that it would be almost impossible to get her to sit down & let us do All the work, my cousin came up with this idea, and i'm Soooooooo all for it! WooHooo ...

             READY???

We are going to have an old fashion picnic on the grounds of where our ancesstors are buried. ( i know, that sounds morbid)...But, we won't be in the cemetery, just in the lot by the old church....i think it's a Methodist church.

We're going to try to keep it simple. But...I will Finally get to use my old picnic basket!! And...my son retrieved my Mom & Dad's old one, and i think i will check with him & we will clean it up & use it too. (Boy that will be a surprise for Mom, and it is a Real antique).

Everyone bring a dish (of food) & a chair & eating utinsils....and we will have horse shoe; crochet;and other games.

Just a Good Old Fashion picnic....minus the long skirts...hehe.

Anyway, just wanted to share this joy with all of you. I can hardly wait....just ask the good Lord for a nice day...not too hot for the Aunts & Uncles...and no rain.

Have a great day everyone, and i wish for each and everyone of You.......No Smoking

Always a Friend,
Lois

Stopping in for roll call

May 15 2008, 1:05 PM

just got in from errands..I weighed in at 115 again this morning

Temp right now is 75, humidity is at 100% and we are clouding up for another wicked round of weather. At 3:45 this morning winds were clocked at 50 mph some higher and the sound of the rain was unbelievable. We lost power I hate this happeneing in pitch darkness when you can't see a darn thing and it spooks ya more. Maggie was whinning so bad I had to get her and let her in bed with me. lights came back by 5 am, good thing cause I NEEDED coffee..

Gas yesterday morning was 3.63

I believe there are Angels among us, sent down to us from somewhere up above, they come to us in our darkest hour..to show us how to live, to teach us how to give and guide us with a light of love..
