Actually they have always been in mining indirectly,mainly through their 80% shareholding of Png Forest Products in Bulolo which holds mining leases and is now in a Joint Venture for alluvial mining with Pacific Nuigini Minerals down at Widobosh(Baiune).
The Manager of the Small Scale Mining School in Wau originally came to PNG from the Phillipines to do exploration work for R and H.
