Response to PNG Jobs, Scholarships, Opportunities etc, NEW WEBSITE

Geeze I hate these b.s. sites, created to get advertising revenue when visitors accidently click on a totally non relavent image or word ... if you're looking for work in png via the web then you'll need to check sites such Tanorama, Daltron, Carpenters, Datec, Steamships etc. These guys at least post positions that are actually in PNG and not in china or some kind of home based pyramid scheme.

To find a job on the net
Identify the company or companies you want to work with or who operate in the sector of your choice
Go to their websites,
check the menu for positions, jobs, vacancies (whatever) - do this regularly !

If these positions aren't filled via the web then the positions may be advertised in the papers (sometimes outside of PNG).

Those companies which aren't making use of the web are short changing themselves ... around 30,000 post couriers sold on a Friday - cost of advertising K500 plus ... OR millions people logging in to the net daily, and many are looking for jobs - cost of website housing for 1 year K100-K250 p.a.

With the cost effectiveness of mobile phones and wireless phones more and more Papua New Guineans are on the net at home.

The Internet, reshaping the world.
The music and film industry as well as newspapers fear it because it DOES take adverting revenue away from them. Their stronghold is no more ... it would be very difficult (if at all possible) for a Rupert Murdoch to become a newspaper tycoon in this century. Independent artists, film makers, writers now have an equal footing with the big boys and can attract their audiences directly. With the change of medium to digital, these "middlemen" are not as needed as before, kicking and screaming they're resisting change while desperately trying to find new models of operation so they may continue to exist and bring some revenue to thier shareholders.

We are cursed with interesting times.
