PNG Internet sites booming

Statistics released by Papua New Guinea internet sites reveal a picture of flourishing sites with booming visitor numbers.

Three websites which release details are each showing considerable traffic growth in October:

PNGBD.com    35,437 unique visitors
PNGSCAPE.com   17,142 unique visitors
Tokpisin.net    4,758 unique visitors

PNG Business Directory suggests that widening the services offered on their site has contributed to this growth: "Since commencing our website initially focused on Business & later adding Tourism features, numbers have continued to grow". PNGscape.com notes that the site now offers dedicated email service for users, which has proven successful.

Other major PNG sites such as Datec have not published statistics but are believed to be sharing in this growth.

In future months we will attempt to widen this survey to include statistics for all significant PNG sites.
