USA 27 - PNG 7

USA advanced to the Bowl semi finals at the Wellington International Sevens tournament this afternoon, comfortably beating Papua New Guinea in the end after a tight first half.

PNG struck first - Jesse Mono the man out wide when the USA defence ran out of bodies.

USA's Riaan Van Zyl took his chances with the old chip and chase - the chip kick falling his way and the scores level at seven-all going into the break.

USA stepped it up in the second half with unanswered converted tries to Jovesa Naivalu, Paul Emerick and Alexander Magleby opening up a 21-point chasm between the sides.
