There is an item published in the Post Courier of Thursday 01/10/09, Page 5. NCD Governor's Column. An issue of interest to everyone, should it not have an effect on you or affect you in any way at all, in a long shot it will.

My opinion is: Its been too long for us to deny the fact that we do trade sex for cash or for favors. in doing so we indirectly promote the rise of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV Aids. Coupled with a lot of other issues. Credit facility for sex and collection during pay days exists too. Well, the business is the world's oldest trade! We should now give serious thoughts to consider it legalized.

When legalizing prostitution, I believe it will create more jobs than all the industry put together, income and economic opportunities will boom for all. Sex tourism will boom, increasing our tourism visitation and income to a higher level! Rape and incest cases etc will decrease because there will be sexual pleasure opportunities to explore one's ego available. In doing so, Sexually frustrated people who go for on night stand with anyone can do it safely.

Legalizing of Prostitution is creating a safe regulating sex industry where safe sex practices will be instilled and conducted, thus ensuring safe sex practice. ABC of National Aids Council will be heeded, when it is wasting more money on HIV & Aids awareness campaigns.

Christian values/ principals and customary values exists, however it is a choice that an individual has to take to be engaged in an industry of such nature. All the Government needs to do is to ensure that it is legal and operated with set guidelines and safety rules. Its just like giving trading licenses to operate a night club, or manufacturing and selling of cigarettes ( which causes cancer) Alcohol (causes +++problems) Sex industry would have 100% benefits and its share of problems, socially and morally as in PNG case will be negative for the start, but over a period of time, people will get use to it and except it.

We use to see gay and lesbians couples in movies, now! Do we have them n PNG? Phonograph was an alien material off from the shore of PNG, now? We cannot go on denying ourselves and claim that PNG is a Christian Country! Sure we are, but to what extant now? Let think globally and act locally to serve our people from their economic woes. Save our population from the dreaded HIV- Aids.

I would love to say more, but I leave my view to you all to ponder! For me; Legalizing Prostitution is okay. Its all go, green lights! Its up to the politicians and the bearucrets at Waigani to decide.

For me, I will bet my life savings on the worlds oldest trade as an investor for I know It has stand the time through the ages and it is the safest investment to make. KongoMX6
